// Who we are

Neon Wave Studios Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. We are a private limited company registered in Scotland, company number SC739169, with our registered office in Glasgow, United Kingdom.

For any privacy-related question, including any of the rights set out below, you can contact us at: privacy@neonwavestudios.co.uk.

// What we collect

  • Identity & contact data — first name, last name and email address, collected only if you sign up to our newsletter.
  • Message content — the name, email address, subject and message body you submit if/when our contact form is enabled.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, and pages viewed. Collected via Google Analytics if you have accepted analytics cookies.

We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 13, and we do not sell personal data.

// Why we use it & legal basis

  • Newsletter. To send you studio updates and dev logs you've signed up for. Legal basis: consent (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
  • Contact enquiries. To reply to questions you send us. Legal basis: legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — running and supporting the studio.
  • Analytics. To understand how the site is used and improve it. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — we only load Google Analytics after you accept analytics cookies.

// Who we share it with

We use a small number of processors to run the site:

  • Resend (Resend, Inc., USA) — transactional email for contact form replies.
  • Vercel (Vercel Inc., USA) — site hosting and traffic logs.
  • Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC) — analytics, only with your consent.

Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum, or an adequacy decision, depending on the destination.

// How long we keep it

  • Contact form messages — for up to 24 months after the conversation closes, then deleted.
  • Analytics data — retained for 14 months in Google Analytics, then automatically deleted.

// Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectify inaccurate data.
  • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten") in certain circumstances.
  • Restrict or object to our processing.
  • Port your data to another service in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it.

To exercise any of these, email privacy@neonwavestudios.co.uk. We respond within 30 days.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
